THE MADISON PRANGNELL
ATELIER STORY

I am a Fashion Design graduate from Visual College of Art and Design, currently based in Vancouver. My love of concept development, visual merchandising, pattern drafting and tailoring comes from an understanding of all facets of the garment production process.

Since my first sewing lessons at age eight I knew that fashion was the industry for me. In high school my first job was working as a seamstress in a local alterations shop where I learned everything from design to running a business. After years of working in customer service and sales, I am able to understand consumer behaviour and needs. Becoming a Junior Designer for a swimwear brand and then a Materials and Print Coordinator, I am gaining more insight into production management.

I have developed my own minimal and timeless aesthetic, complimenting my designs with interesting silhouettes, tailoring, and fine details. I call it: couture-à-porter, couture to wear. Most of my concepts are inspired by shapes derived from nature, architecture, history, and the human body. I am a firm believer in agile production and sourcing audited and responsible suppliers and manufacturers.
